I’m new to the game of soccer. I would like to start playing for fun. What do I do?
I’m 33 years old and over the past three years have fallen in love with the game of soccer. Watching the ’06 World Cup and the just completed Euro Cup ’08 has given me the itch to start actually playing. I could possibly be one of the only people in the US who did not play AYSO as a youth. I’m considering joining an adult beginners league this coming spring. Can anyone out there give me any pointers on how to train for a game I’ve never played? I consider myself athletic, although it has been a few years since I’ve played a team sport. I grew up playing baseball and continued with lots of beer league softball through my 20′s. So, aside form the obvious cardio I need to do for endurance, where should I start and how much of it should I do? I bought myself a new ball and I’m ready to go! Please help!
At this age your never played soccer?! Never mind!
You can start with goalkeeper for a while, then after you figure out about rules and stuff you can play as defender, then wing, middle and finally in attack to score.
Good luck!!!
